Watling Street Writers

We're very happy for new members to join us - all ages (over 18 for the pub-based meetings), abilities and genres. Come along to the next meeting and bring a short extract of your writing to read out if you're feeling brave.

We usually meet from 7.30 p.m. every Thursday.  Please refer to our programme for details of the venue or contact us on watlingstreetwriters@gmail.com for more information.

Meeting Rules
We ask that all members come along prepared to participate in any workshops or writing exercises carried out at meetings. We also ask that members are prepared to share their work with the group, although understand that new members may like some time to get to know the group before they do this. All members are expected to listen attentively and respectfully when other members are reading out and give supportive and constructive critique and suggestions, taking into account what the members is asking for from the critique. Members should give guidance on the kind of critique they require (Is it a first draft or the finished product, or are there specific problems that need addressing? etc). Readings will be limited to around 10 minutes per person, depending on the number of people wishing to read out within the time constraints of the meeting.

All work remains the intellectual property of the author. It is a condition of attending the meetings that members do not infringe on the copyright of other members or visitors.

Please respect your fellow writers at all times – unsupportive behaviour is not acceptable.
