Just a little note to say that we will not be meeting at the White Hart this week as we are having a get together at a local restaurant.
Hope to see you there!
Next Manuscript Review session should be on 8th May but watch this space for confirmation.

Prima Magazine Competition
Prima magazine publishes a 'Winning Story' every month for which the published author receives £100.
If
anyone wants to give it a whirl they just have to submit an 800 word
story with their name, address, contact number and recent photograph
(high res) to Nadia.loreda@hearst.co.uk.
Only those picked will be contacted.
They are looking for summer inspired short stories that are of a light-hearted nature and would appeal to their readership.

BeaconLit 2014 - Writing Festival in Ivinghoe,Buckinghamshire
BeaconLit is in its second year and has already grown from last
year's inaugural half-day event into a full day's festival, with author
discussion panels, an 'in conversation' feature marking the 100th
anniversary of the outbreak of WW1, sessions on writing craft and
getting published and hands-on creative writing workshops. The
atmosphere is informal, with plenty of opportunity to chat to authors,
buy books and get them signed, browse the stalls and enjoy some
refreshments.
Participating authors include Hilary Freeman, Caroline Green and Teri
Terry (YA Fiction), Stephen Booth, Alison Bruce, Jane Isaac, Anya
Lipska and Dave Sivers (Crime Fiction), Mandy Kirby (author/editor of
Love Letters of the Great War) and Rowan Coleman (Women's Fiction).
There will also be some attractions for children, with details to be confirmed.
BeaconLit 2014 runs from 10am to 5.30pm in the newly extended
Brookmead School, Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire, with its impressive new
main hall. Ample parking is available on Ivinghoe Lawn, less than five
minutes' walk away, and disabled parking will be available at the
school.
Tickets are now on sale, and a full day pass purchased before 17 May
will cost just £12 (£4 for young people in full time education) - a
saving of more than 11%. That's amazing value compared to many other
literary festivals. For those only wishing to attend for the morning or
afternoon, separate half day passes are also available.
Full details, including the programme and profiles of the authors, can be found at the website at
www.beaconlit.co.uk.
