Hi All,
Unfortunately this week we are not going to be able to have a meeting due to several members being unavailable.
Therefore the next time we will catch up will be Thursday the 7th June.
We will post an update to the site next week to confirm the date.
In meantime hope you all have a great (long) bank holiday weekend!

Top 10 Blogs for Writers
Nope - I know what you are thinking but this blog isn't on that list just yet.
However check out the the top 10 blogs listed. Some great sites for loads of help and inspiration for us aspiring writers (a blog we have already mentioned, The Bookshelf Muse, is on the list for the Emotion Thesaurus).
Anyway - have fun browsing!

Its a Flash in the Pan?
Wednesday 16th May is National Flash Fiction Day and for those of you who enjoy writing in this form there is an interesting article here on how to write flash fiction.
If you follow the main link above there are many competitions in support of the day. Unfortunately many of these have already closed (definitely have my finger on the pulse there) but there are still a couple of open ones - including an interesting one for all those Sherlock Holmes fans amongst you.
Could be worth a look?

Literary Dinner - Isabel Ashdown
Last nights dinner with Isabel Ashdown was an enjoyable affair - well organised by Alison at persuasion events and providing a useful insight into Isabel's writing process. Add to that a free copy of her award winning book Glasshopper and food from Lussmans and it made for a great evening - all in aid of the charity NACOA.
It is good to take a break from writing and get a feel for how published authors go about generating ideas, creating first drafts and working through the editing process. Hopefully we'll get the chance to something like this again in the near future!
Now must get back to finishing that novel...
